The
compass rose (above) has appeared on charts and maps since
the 1300's. The term "rose" comes from the figure's
compass points resembling the petals of the well-known flower.
Like the explorers who have used the compass rose to indicate
the direction of the winds, artist Karole Haycock Pittman
follows her own direction, to paint inspiring coastlines
and landscapes. Karole welcomes you to her site as she shares
her own personal artistic journey. |
